Max Verstappen said he had no sympathy for Lando Norris’ frustration over his penalty in yesterday’s United States Grand Prix.

“No, I don’t.” Verstappen said when asked if he sympathised with Norris’ situation.

“I mean, they complain about a lot lately anyway, but it’s very clear in the rules. Outside the white line, you cannot pass. I’ve been done for it as well in the past.”

Verstappen insisted there was no doubt Norris’ move was illegal. “I think it’s quite clear, you can’t overtake outside of the white line,” he said.

“I got done for it also here in, I think, 2017 or whatever it was. So I lost my podium like that. So I just remained calm, tried to do the best I could after that to bring the car to the end because it was not easy with the tyres and the situation that I was in.

"But overall I still really enjoyed that battle that we had.”

🇺🇸🇺🇸 Austin was a good race. Lots of fighting, including the duel between Verstappen and Norris at the end. And Ferrari confirmed the good pace shown in the Sprint, and most importantly, that the updates brought to the previous Grand Prix are working.

🔴 Charles Leclerc's third win this season and eighth in his career. Ferrari's second one-two this year!

🔵 Verstappen gets third place after Norris's off-track penalty. Overall, Red Bull lost their balance on Hard, but they were able to improve a little compared to previous races.

🟠 McLaren did their best with Norris's tactics, but they had no cushion over their rivals this weekend. Third place almost worked.

⚫ A very tough day for Mercedes. Lewis out and Russell out of the pit lane.

🔵🔵 Lawson in the points in his first race back! And Colapinto in his second race in four starts!
