God is a covenant-keeping God, and you salvation is a covenant that embraces your entire family. Because of that covenant, your loved ones will serve the Lord.

This principle is seen in Exodus 12:3, where God commanded Moses to take a lamb for a house: “Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying , In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house.”

Nearly three years after my salvation, as I continued to cry out to God for my family, the Lord spoke to me—“Quit asking Me and take your authority!”

I had no idea what this meant. To my knowledge I had never heard anyone preach or teach on the subject of taking authority. I was in my bedroom in our family’s home at 48 Crossbow Crescent in Toronto, yet suddenly it was if one of the secrets of the entire universe was being unveiled to me.

What is intercession? First of all, intercession is sacrificial prayer. It focuses less on you and more on others. It asks for God’s power to be unleashed in the world.

Intercessory prayer involves spiritual warfare. Our battle is not against flesh and blood and it is not fought with carnal weapons. We win these battles on our knees!

Today, you may be concerned for a son, a daughter, or for a friend. Perhaps you are in a prison of distress over health, finances, or a relationship.

Many believers fail to realize that what takes place on earth can affect the actions of heaven. You see, God is willing to act on your behalf, but He may be waiting for you to pray and agree with someone before He performs it.

Agreement brings victory in evangelism!

Just before ascending to heaven, Jesus Christ instructed His disciples, “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved” (Mark 16:15, MSG). He gave them the greatest privilege and the greatest honor given to any man or woman.

In the face of great persecution those who proclaimed Christ as their Savior somehow bonded together with great love and passion.

They prayed earnestly for the disciples and apostles. When the children of Israel were on their journey in the wilderness, they battled more than hunger and thirst.
