🎩Plot twist -- Cap-2 is opening early!

Bitcoin blocks are being mined faster than expected, currently 56 blocks ahead of schedule.

This means Cap-2, opening at block height 864790, is now estimated to start around 8PM UTC on Tuesday, Oct 8th—15 hours earlier than planned.

Keep an eye on the block height for updates.

🔸TL;DR: Important update — For Babylon Bitcoin staking mainnet Phase-1 Cap-2, the maximum staking amount per Bitcoin staking transaction will be 500 BTC instead of 0.5 BTC. Please see the updated post here.

🔸The community expressed concerns that the previously announced 0.5 BTC stake limit could result in unnecessarily high Bitcoin tx fees (including staking tx, unbonding tx, and withdrawal tx fees). Additionally, splitting UTXOs is a hassle for many stakers.

🔸This increase will help lower the total tx fees by reducing the number of transactions. It will also lessen the pressure to enter Cap-2, which would otherwise drive up the staking tx fees.

🔸The staking amount remains under your control. However, please consider staking small and cautiously.

🕒 Cap-2 is duration-based
🔸It will run for 10 BTC blocks, starting at block height 864790.
🔸Every valid Bitcoin staking transaction from blocks 864790 to 864799 (inclusive) will be accepted. ⏳

💼 Limits for Cap-2:
🔸Minimum stake per transaction: 0.005 BTC
🔸Maximum stake per transaction: Increased to 0.5 BTC

🚨 More Points Per Block:
🔸The points per BTC block are tripling—from 3,125 to 10,000.

🤝 Lower Unbonding Transaction Fees:
🔸Cap-2 stakes will have a 50% lower unbonding transaction fee of 0.00032 BTC.

⚠️ Reminder:
🔸Any stakes in block 864800 or later will be overflow and won’t be accepted.
🔸All overflow stakes should be unbonded and withdrawn.
